Thelma Adams Johnson, President/CEO of Albany Community Together, Inc. (ACT!) since 2002, is a dynamic leader with a remarkable track record. Under her guidance, ACT! has facilitated access to $7.6 million in capital, leveraged $21.4 million in private funding for 175+ businesses, and created/retained 730 jobs. Thelma is a member of the African-American Alliance of CDFIs CEOs, contributing to positive change in underserved communities nationwide. With a rich background in community and economic development, she holds a BS in Accounting, an MBA, and a DBA. Thelma's impact extends to various roles, including being an adjunct professor, Board Chair of Downtown Development Authority, and board member of several organizations. Recognized as a Southwest Georgia 40 under 40 honoree and SBA Financial Champion, Thelma has over 20 years of experience in nonprofit management and economic development. In 2018, she received the SunTrust Foundation's 'Lighting the Way' award for her tireless community efforts.
